Challenge
Digible is a digital-marketing agency focused on multifamily and apartment marketing. Their data came from many advertising platforms — Google Ads, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, a custom Salesforce CRM, and Digible’s own call-tracking software, Fiona. With that volume of data flowing in, Digible wanted to re-architect their transformation processes at scale — faster, more maintainable, more extensible — and saw dbt as the way to get there. They brought in Cloud Data Consulting for guidance.
CDC had first worked with Digible in 2020 on an end-to-end data architecture assessment. In 2022, with that assessment as the framework, Digible re-engaged CDC to modernize their analytics pipeline.
Solution
Digible engaged CDC through its Data Team as a Service (DaaS) model — a collaborative six-month engagement working alongside Digible’s own data professionals rather than replacing them.
Enablement, Not Just Delivery
CDC trained and supported Digible’s in-house engineers to adopt dbt effectively, optimizing their transformation workflows through hands-on guidance and conventions the team could own and extend.
Infrastructure as Code
CDC deployed its IaC library — including dbt Jumpstart and Snowflake Jumpstart — to stand up the environment quickly and increase time to value.
Data Integration
Fivetran ingested Digible’s sources — Google Ads, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, Salesforce, and the Fiona call-tracking platform — into Snowflake.
Star-Schema Model
CDC designed a star-schema dimensional model that consolidated every advertising and marketing platform into one unified view of marketing performance across channels — the foundation feeding Digible’s reporting and dashboards in Amazon QuickSight.
Results
- Better development practices. With dbt adopted, Digible saw faster development, more maintainable and extensible transformations, and data-quality assurance through automated CI/CD and testing.
- An end-to-end automated stack. Fivetran, Snowflake, and dbt together gave Digible a resilient, automated pipeline across all channels.
